Roberto Cavalli may not have been among the first generation of Facebookers, but the designer is starting to embrace online media in a big way-starting with his first online store, powered by Yoox Group. Roberto Cavalli men’s and womenswear, Roberto Cavalli watches for men and women, Roberto Cavalli eyewear for men and women, Roberto Cavalli pets, and Roberto Cavalli underwear for men and women, all starting with the fall 2009 season, will be available at the end of November on RobertoCavalli.com, which will ship to the United States, 26 countries in Europe, and Asia.
“I have always observed youngsters and their world,” said Cavalli of the venture. “They transmit energy and positive vibes: a source of inspiration from which I absorb ideas, suggestions and food for thought for my collections. I am attracted by the phenomenon of social network and surprised by the amount of groups on Facebook that love my fashion and my lifestyle. I love challenges and freedom: working outside the box, experimenting in constantly different directions… this new challenge fills me with enthusiasm because I believe that internet represents the future and an unlimited source of surprises.”
To celebrate his new online store, the first 500 clients will receive a Cavalli-designed bag in the house’s signature prints.
